Matteo is 31 years old and born in Milan, Italy. He found his passion for horses on vacation in the northern Italian Alps when he was a kid. After a while his parents bought him his first Quarter Horse and from there on there was no return.
He wanted to become a horse trainer. With this goal in mind he tried to learn as much as he can. He worked for Keith Long, a multiple European Champion. Then he got the possibility to go to the States to work for Michael Colvin one of the most famous trainers in the All-Around sector.
---
Back to Italy he started out to work by himself - he always stayed in touch with Keith for advise and attended clinics with Michael. He started slowly with giving riding lessons and showing on regional and national level. Step by step he made his way up. The horses and riders were getting better and the show results came in.
---
One of Matteo's principles is to "never stop learning". With this in mind he returned to the States to learn from Charlie Cole and Jason Martin. Every winter he tries to spend some time there to improve and improve and improve.
---
This is paying back. Matteo trains some of the best all-around horses in Europe. He to date is a 8-time European Champion, won the Mario Palma All-Around Futurity for two years in a row, and instructed many Youth and Amateurs to Championship titles.
--

Nobody was born as a champion. Becoming one is very hard work and you need a lot of show exprerience. Matteo´s customers show at regional, national and european level. "It´s important to know where you want to go" he says. Once the student decided the goal Matteo helps to get there. Step by step.
--
At the shows, for him the most important thing is that the students learn something, bring it back home and work on it. "Like this it worked for me and it will work for my students" he says. "There is no problem in making mistakes, as long as you learn from them. Like this you automatically get better and better."

Riding is a team sport. The rider and his horse have to be a good team, but more than that, they have to be partners and friends. It´s the combination that makes one team a special one.
--
Matteo has the ability to find the horse that matches the persons goals and personality. Because riding should be fun every day.
